After getting a tattoo or piercing at Serenity Ink Tattoo, it is important to follow our aftercare instructions to ensure proper healing. Tattoo Aftercare Instructions
- Remove cling-film after 1-3 hours after tattooing OR remove second skin after a maximum of 5 days
- Wash your tattoo with clean, warm water with antibacterial soap
- Apply a light layer of Aquaphor, at least 3 times a day for 3 days
- On the 4th day, switch to a moisturising lotion
- Moisturise several times a day for 3 weeks
- Avoid direct sunlight and soaking underwater for 3 weeks (this includes spa activities such as saunas, sunbeds etc)
- Use lotion and sunblock to protect your tattoo
- DO NOT scratch/pick at your tattoo while healing
Body Piercing Aftercare
Ear Piercing Aftercare
Average Cartilage Healing Time - 9-12 months
Average Lobe Healing Time - 2-4 months
Clean 2x a day with a SALINE SOLUTION only!

- Do not play with/twist your piercing
- Dry your piercing after showering
- Do not soak your piercing
- Avoid sleeping on your piercing
- Do not change your piercing jewellery prematurely
- No spa activities for 3 weeks (this includes swimming, saunas, sunbeds etc)
- Take extra care when washing your hair to avoid knocking your piercing
- Do not use salt water/oils/home remedies to clean your piercing
- Bruising, discharge, build-up, redness and swelling is all normal and a natural part of your healing process
- Be sure to downsize your jewellery after 6-8 weeks
Body Piercing Aftercare
Average Healing Time - 9-12 months

Oral Piercing Aftercare
Average Healing Time - 2-4 months
Rinse with ALCOHOL-FREE mouthwash after every meal/drinking anything other than water

- Do not play with/twist your piercing
- Avoid spicy foods and dairy for 3 weeks
- Do not change your piercing jewellery prematurely
- Take extra care when brushing your teeth to avoid knocking your piercing
- Avoid smoking/vaping for 1 week (if this cannot be avoided, rinse with ALCOHOL -FREE mouthwash after every smoke)
- Do not use salt water/oils/home remedies to clean your piercing
- Avoid oral contact/sexual activities for at least 3 weeks
- Avoid using skincare/makeup products on/around the piercing site
- Bruising, discharge, build-up, redness and swelling is all normal and a natural part of your healing process
- Be sure to downsize your jewellery after 6-8 weeks
